How to Choose the Electrical Connectors on Application?
1.Selection by parameters and structural forms:
To select suitable electrical connectors, it is a prior to choose connector with reliable connections, ease of usage, novel structures, and excellent performance, such as the J14A, J36A, and Y27 series. Following Parameters should be under consideration:
1.1 Electrical Parameters: Factors such as Operating Voltage (one-third of the withstand voltage), rated current, contact resistance, shielding capacity and anti-interference performance etc.
1.2 Mechanical parameters: vibration, shock, impact, mechanical life, single-hole separation force, and total separation force.
1.3 Environmental Parameters: Working temperature, humidity, air pressure, temperature shock, and sealability
1.4 Safety Parameters: insulation resistance, withstand voltage, flame retardant, and quality grade.
1.5 Termination Method: welding, crimping, wrapping, piercing connection, screw connection, etc.
1.6 Structural type: contact removability, contact type, and structural type.
1.7 Connection and Locking Methods: Secondary hook locking, screw locking, cabinet mounting, snap ring, threaded, bayonet, push/pull, etc.
1.8 Mounting Methods: Panel mounting, cable mounting, welding, nut mounting, etc.
1.9 Operational Suitability: Operating space, anti-misoperation mechanism, connection position indicator, etc.

The rated current drop rate Q value of the contact should be checked according to the actual number of cores used (see the table below):

By following formula,Calculate the contact rated curren:
Single contact rated current ≥ (single contact carrying current) ÷ (1-Q). Based on the calculated contact rated current, determine the contact mating diameter (see the table below) and select the desired electrical connector model. Ensure that the cable core and contact hole diameter match to avoid damage to the contact termination due to excessively thick cores.
