UQD Connectors: Push-to-Connect Fluid Couplings for Liquid-Cooled Data Centers
AI training clusters and high-performance computing racks run hotter every year. Air alone can’t keep up anymore. That’s why more data centers now depend on liquid cooling — and every liquid-cooled loop needs a fast, safe way to connect and disconnect. That’s exactly what a UQD connector does.
Our UQD Connectors join rack servers to the manifold, and connect the manifold to the wider piping system. They lock and release in seconds, without tools, without spilling coolant, and without shutting down the whole loop. Whether you’re building a new liquid-cooled rack or maintaining an existing one, UQD connectors make the job faster and safer.
What Is UQD Connector?
UQD stands for “Universal Quick Disconnect.” It is a connection standard designed specifically for liquid cooling systems in data centers and supercomputers, meeting the need for reliable, manually connectable/disconnectable links between servers and cooling loops.
You can think of it as a “handshake” connection point within the cooling system: one end connects to the server or cold plate, while the other connects to the manifold or facility piping. When technicians need to replace a server tray or perform rack maintenance, the UQD connector allows them to simply disconnect at that single point—making the process fast and clean, without requiring the drainage of fluid from the rest of the cooling loop.
Advantages of Our UQD Connectors
We built our UQD series around four design priorities: speed, sealing, safety, and flexibility.
- One-hand push-to-connect locking. No tools, no twisting, no second technician holding the hose steady. Push to lock, press to release.
- Flat-face, dual-seal design. Both halves stay sealed whether they’re connected or disconnected. That means no drips during mating, no drips during disconnection, and no air pulled into the loop.
- Color-coded ports. Red and blue markings let installers identify the supply line and the return line at a glance, so setup goes faster and mistakes go down.
- Four bore sizes. Choose the flow capacity that matches your rack design, from compact server-level loops to higher-flow manifold connections.
- Customizable tail terminations. We can adapt the hose barb or port end to match your existing tubing, fittings, or manifold interface.

Sizes and Configurations
Our UQD Series is available in four standard bore sizes to suit different coolant flow requirements, and each size is offered in both Straight and 90° Elbow configurations for flexible system layouts.

UQD02: Compact quick disconnect for low-flow cooling loops, ideal for GPUs, CPUs, blade servers, and other space-constrained equipment.

UQD04: Medium-small bore connector for moderate flow applications, balancing compact size with improved coolant capacity.

UQD06 High-flow coupling designed for AI servers, liquid cooling manifolds, CDUs, and high-density rack systems.

UQD08 – Maximum-flow connector for primary coolant distribution, large CDUs, rear-door heat exchangers, and industrial liquid cooling systems.
Each model is available in:

Straight UQD Couplings – Best for direct hose routing and inline connections.

90° Elbow UQD Couplings – Reduce hose bending radius and simplify installation in confined spaces.
Beyond standard configurations, we also customize hose barbs, threaded ports, tube connections, and other end fittings to match your existing cooling system, allowing seamless integration without redesigning your loop.
Where UQD Connectors Are Used
- Server-to-manifold connections inside liquid-cooled racks
- Manifold-to-facility piping connections in the coolant distribution loop
- HPC and supercomputing clusters that need frequent, reliable servicing
- AI training and inference server farms, where direct liquid cooling is now standard for high-density compute
Why Choose Our UQD Connectors
The reliability of a liquid cooling system hinges on the integrity of every connection point. A leak near live electronic components is a serious matter—entailing downtime and risk. This is precisely the challenge we focused on addressing during the design process.
- Faster maintenance. One-hand operation means technicians spend less time at each rack.
- Spill-free by design. The dual-seal structure keeps coolant contained in both the connected and disconnected state, so hot-swapping a server doesn’t threaten the equipment around it.
- Built to last. Stainless steel housings and EPDM seals resist corrosion and degradation, even across thousands of connect-disconnect cycles.
- Wide operating range. From -55°C to +125°C and up to 1.6 MPa, our UQD connectors handle the demands of modern high-density cooling loops.
- Made to fit your system. Four bore sizes and customizable tail interfaces mean you’re not forced to redesign your loop around a fixed connector.
FAQ
1. What does UQD stand for?
UQD stands for Universal Quick Disconnect. It refers to a family of push-to-connect couplings designed for liquid cooling systems in data centers and high-performance computing environments.
2. Can a UQD connector leak coolant when I disconnect it?
No. Our flat-face, dual-seal design closes off both halves the moment they separate, so the connection stays sealed whether it’s mated or apart.
3. How many times can I connect and disconnect a UQD connector?
Our UQD connectors are rated for 5,000 mating cycles, which covers years of routine server maintenance and rack servicing.
4. Which coolants work with UQD connectors?
Our connectors are compatible with ethylene glycol coolant, propylene glycol coolant, deionized water, and similar water-glycol cooling media commonly used in data center loops.
5. Can the connector’s tail end be customized?
Yes. We can adapt the tail termination — hose barb, thread type, or port style — to match your existing manifold, tubing, or fitting standard.
